Though some of you readers are staunch Shahrukh Khan fans and support him through thick and thin, even you would agree that his latest TV show ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ has backfired at him and he, himself, has received the biggest ‘Jhatka’ of his life.
This has been one of the floppest ventures of SRK’s career and the low TRPs are evidence enough to suggest that his dominance in films hasn’t rubbed on to the TV world. The show ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ went on air on 1st February, 2011 riding on huge hype and expectations.
Based on the international show ‘WipeOut’, it is a game show where the contestants (small-time celebs) battle it out for the prize money. It is aired on NDTV Imagine. Though the show is reminiscent of ‘Takeshi’s Castle’ of Pogo, ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ lacks the spunk and thrill that comes with the former.
And SRK himself is on the receiving end of the flak since some critics are questioning his integrity. Apparently, he did the job half-heartedly and didn’t show his full commitment. For instance, he never flew down to Argentine to gel with the contestants but shot his portions in a local studio. His shots were attached to the Argentina shoot in a manner that it looked as if he was present on the location.
However, the end product did not turn out to be as juicy as the viewers were expecting. May be, SRK should make a thorough research before taking up a project.
