Even as Royal Challengers Bangalore struggle to secure a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing IPL, it’s brand ambassador Katrina Kaif is cheering on the team from home. The Bollywood beauty has embarked on a nationwide campaign called “Meet And Greet Katrina Kaif” to keep the interest of cricket fans alive in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament in South Africa and to particularly raise the morale of Royal Challengers Bangalore, which is performing better than last year but still not good enough. At the promotional event held in Bangalore, Katrina said though she’s not cheering the team in South Africa, she’s happy to cheer from home where all fans are. “…the silver lining is that I am cheering for my team with fans! It feels better cheering for them from home, as not everyone can afford to travel to all the venues to watch their team play,” Katrina said at the event. When asked about her team’s chances of reaching the finals, Katrina was optimistic. “I will continue to cheer for the Royal Challengers and believe we have a chance to win the finals. My favourite cricketer is Rahul Dravid, who I believe is a true gentleman,” Katrina revealed. Katrina, who had been shooting her film De Dana Dan in Singapore before flying to Bangalore, added that she’s been watching all the matches in the IPL so far. We didn’t know she was such a cricket buff!

Katrina Kaif rivals Aishwarya Rai as Barbie

It’s the autumn/winter fashion season in India and it continues today with the start of Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. The week begins with a showcase special to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Barbie. In addition, Mattel have announced that a new Barbie doll would be based on Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, rubbishing earlier rumours that it would be based on Aishwarya Rai. Designers including Vikram Phadnis , Wendell Rodericks , Neeta Lulla, Shantanu and Nikhil will all be participating in the Barbie – All Doll’d Up show, each having designed a special outfit based on Barbie’s first fifty years. Katrina Kaif will be taking to the runway as part of the show. “Every girl at some point of time in her childhood has played with a Barbie doll,” says Katrina, “and so have I. She makes a sweet, fun and lively companion.” Meanwhile Katrina has been working hard on two new films – the political drama Rajniti and the romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, both of which she hopes will stretch her as an actress and both of which include Ranbir Kapoor. “This year I would like to allocate time to big films,” she explains, “The kind of films I am doing - Rajneeti and Ajab Prem… are a little more difficult. They need time and also a little more thought process.” Katrina’s other movies in her release schedule include New York with John Abraham, Irrfan Khan and Ginger Kroll; Blue with Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Sanjay Dutt; and De Dhana Dhan, also with Akshay, Sameera Reddy and Neha Dhupia.

Katrina and Imran all set to sizzle

This summer, get ready to check out sizzling onscreen chemistry between newbie Imran Khan and B-town’s mirror cracking beauty Katrina Kaif who will be sharing the silver screen for the first time. According to ‘Dhoom’ hitmaker director Sanjay Gadhvi, the reason behind pairing Katrina and Imran is the fact that both actors have been in long liaisons and somehow can relate to the language of his untitled directorial venture. Talking to a news daily, Sanjay Gadhvi said, “We`re doing intense workshops before we start shooting in Paris. Both Katrina and Imran have set aside ample time for rehearsals. Imran has taken on no film after ‘Delhi Belly’. So he`s ready to devote as much time as we need. Katrina is busier. But she too is getting into workshops after ‘De Dhana Dhan’. I`m lucky to have a lead pair that is so committed to creating a new language for screen lovers. That Imran and Katrina look so good together is a bonus. I`m counting on them looking as striking as Ash and Hrithik in ‘D:2’.” When solicited about his new film, Gadhvi said that his new flick will be a breezy romantic movie based on the companionship between Imran and Katrina. Elucidating a bit more about his unnamed directorial venture, Gadhvi said, “This is a different love story. I want to take the screen romance beyond ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’. Imran and Katrina occupy almost every frame in the film. It`s the story of these two strangers who meet and fall in love in Paris over a week.” Admitting the fact that shooting in Paris will be an expensive affair, the movie’s budget is expected anywhere around Rs 30 crore. Talking about Paris as the dream location, Gadhvi was quick to add that, “It had to be Paris. I saw my lovers only in that city. I`d be shooting in familiar places and unknown lanes and streets. I think Katrina and Imran will create a new language for love.”

Katrina Kaif Intrested in Akshay Kumar

Revealed a unit source, ”While shooting for Ratan Jain’s upcoming film DE DANA DHAN, the lead pair of the film Akshay and Katrina were to be shifted to luxurious seven star hotel. The reason being Akshay wanted a hotel which showed the IPL matches. Now Ratan Jain the big hearted producer that he is, decided to get his entire unit there and not make them feel left out.” ”Now it so happened that while the rest of the cast and crew showed promptness in shifting from their earlier hotel to the new seven star one, Akshay and Katrina somehow ended up reaching late due to prior commitments at the new hotel.

But that proved to be their undoing as by the time they had arrived all the luxurious suites had been allotted to the rest cast and crew. Now these other members were not willing to let go off their luxurious suites for Akshay and Katrina. This put the poor producer in a fix. But finally somehow adjustments were made and the embarrassing situation was brought to an end,” adds the source.

Katrina Kaif delays sis Isabels Bollywood entry

Mumbai: A Barbie doll look is just not enough to judge the personality of a damsel. Similar is in the case of Bollywood most sought after actress Katrina Kaif. It is known that Katrina has a younger sister Isabel, who was supposed to mark an entry in Bollywood last year but reports say that Katrina has made it clear to her family that this was not the right time for Isabel to debut in Bollywood. Katina who has grown up a lot with the passage of time seems to have planned a proper launch pad for his younger sister and wants to get Isabel pruned before making a foray in the glam world. Katrina Kaif has rubbished also reports that her 17-year-old sister Isabel will play lead opposite Salman Khan in the period drama Veer, scripted by Salman Khan and being directed by Anil Sharma. "I don't know from where people are getting these ideas! How can Isabel make a debut in films when she hasn't even finished her education?" she reportedly had said. The reports were triggered after a meeting that Sharma had with Isabel, and Isabel recently attending several Bollywood events along with Katrina. Katrina says that Isabel, who studies in London, hung out with her as she was on vacation in Mumbai. "She hasn't even planned yet if she wants to make her career in films or elsewhere. Even if Isabel chooses to join the film industry, she will definitely not be seen in Salman's Veer," she says. Veer is scheduled to begin production in August for release next summer

Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor in London

In recent news, Katrina had been busy shooting in Spain for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, a Zoya Akhtar film. She took a break to be with her family and took a seven day break to be in London with her sisters. Katrina later left Spain on the 25th and is presently in London.

Call it a coincidence, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who was busy, shooting in Delhi, also landed up in London to shoot for an ad film. He was in London till yesterday. Later Ranbir flew off to Cape Town, South Africa so as to complete the other half of the same ad film.

The rumor mills say a different story; it’s said that Ranbir and Katrina have been seeing each other for a while now. However, the two completely denied any possibility of a relationship and also denied being with each other abroad.

However, both of them being at the same place and news of their supposed link up, did raise some eyebrows
